Polyglot Lesson Guide (How to study with Polyglot)

In this article we will review some of the main ways that you can leverage Polyglot to study your target language.


Way #1: Reading The Transcript with Annotations

  1. Scroll down below the video player to the transcript section.

  2. While the video is playing, read along with the transcript.

  3. Highlight any word that you want to create more context for.

  4. Once highlighted select the save icon to create a vocabulary card. You can add a definition(meaning), dictionary link and save it to your preferred vocabulary deck.

  5. The card will then be annotated (show up in yellow) while you continue studying the video & transcript

  6. You can study your annotated and saved vocabulary cards later on by navigating to your “My Learning Center”


Way #2: Active Listening - with vocabulary cards feature

  1. While the video is playing, vocabulary cards will pop-up on the left

  2. You can click the timestamp to rewind the video to the moment the word is about to be spoken in the video dialogue

  3. And click the “View Reference” button to see the dictionary link and more details about the word

  4. Try and listen for the vocab words that show up while the video is playing. This is a good way for the language to start slowing down for you when you first start trying to gain listening comprehension ability.


Way #3: Print out Transcript and do hand written notes

  1. If you are someone that prefers to take notes manually. You can print out a PDF transcript of each lesson dialogue.

  2. Navigate to the “Attachments” below the video player.

  3. Download the PDF Transcript of the lessons and use it however you prefer in your own study routine!
